A wide crescent bib of golden coins and turquoise enamel opens this Egyptian Revival necklace, and at its center sits the jackal god himself: an Anubis head medallion in a ring of red and lapis-blue enamel. Below, a turquoise crescent set with coral-red beads carries a diamond drop, and the lowest tier ends in a small enameled owl, watching everything with ancient patience.

Hieroglyphs would only slow it down.
