A golden gecko curves across this necklace in a crescent – tail high, head low, permanently mid-climb – surrounded by chunky genuine turquoise stones, two sun-face medallions with human expressions, and swags of turquoise beads finished with golden tassels.

Mona keeps making lizards because the desert keeps providing them. No two have ever struck the same pose.
