The huge sculptural pendant of this necklace stages the oldest match in the world: a white-winged angel and a red-draped devil lean over a chessboard, frozen mid-game. Above the board hangs a carved crest medallion on pink enamel links, and the chain itself joins the theme – a heart-shaped watch at one shoulder, a square watch at the other, and a round pocket watch dropping below the players like a referee’s whistle.
